Recommendations & Best Practices
To help ensure optimal performance, accuracy, and longevity of your Dispensette®, we recommend the following:
- Consider a Digital Dispensette® for enhanced ease of use, simplified volume adjustments, and improved accuracy verification. See Item #DK107-30.
- Use with Three 1 L Amber Glass Bottles (Item #2001000-01) for an efficient workflow: one bottle for current dispensing, one for preparing the next stock solution, and one dedicated to cleaning. An extended filling tube (Item #DK-201) is required for 1 L bottles.
- Verify Dispensing Accuracy Regularly using a Class A or Class B graduated glass cylinder. Recommended product is Item #1634AA-100 (Class A).
- Follow a Regular Cleaning Schedule, particularly when dispensing methadone and other solutions that may crystallize over time. Proper maintenance helps preserve dispensing accuracy and prevent blockages.
- Flush with Hot Water whenever a stock bottle is emptied. Methadone can crystallize when exposed to air, potentially causing buildup that may affect performance and calibration if not removed.
- Never Force a Clogged Dispensette®. If resistance occurs or the unit becomes blocked, discontinue use and contact PharmaSystems for servicing recommendations.
- Maintain Calibration Accuracy by following the cleaning and care procedures outlined in the operating manual.
- Calibration Certificate Included – Each Dispensette® is supplied with a calibration certificate valid for one year from the date of purchase.
- Annual Calibration Recommended – Routine calibration helps ensure continued dispensing accuracy and supports quality assurance programs. Calibration services are available through PharmaSystems for an additional fee.
- Do Not Adjust Calibration Unless Directed by a PharmaSystems representative. Unauthorized calibration adjustments may void the included calibration certificate.
